ChoW THIS COMING WEEK is PSALM 35, a Psalm of David likely written during the time Saul was still king and felt threatened by David and tried to catch him and have him killed. Certainly the writer feels persecuted and expresses concern about those who are trying to capture him. He is looking for rescue, deliverance and vindication from God. Since our theme in next Sunday’s worship is about seemingly unanswered prayer this psalm of David fits well into that perspective. As you read look for both the uncertainty and the assurance the writer expresses. This sort of thinking is very similar to the struggle we too face as we wonder if God will answer and help us as we pray.
